About Us

Better Mental Health for a Brighter Future

Cardinal Clinic is a private psychiatric clinic set on the outskirts of Windsor. We deal with all aspects of mental health from mild depression to psychosis.

The Clinic has an excellent reputation and has been helping people for over 30 years. Sometimes even the smallest of problems can feel impossible to overcome, but we are here to help every step of the way.

Our History

Bishops Lodge is old; some of it dates back to the 1600s when Oakley Green was little more than a pastoral clearing in the middle of the forest of Windsor.

Our history goes back further, John le Bishoppe farmed and hunted here in the 1200s. Whether his name was simply an inherited patronym (a family name derived from the name of your father or a paternal ancestor) or he was a self-appointed hermit cleric is not clear.

We thought we would name the rooms after the Bishops of Windsor, but there is no diocese of Windsor. We decided instead on Vicars of Bray, seeing that we are in the Parish.

Cardinal Clinic opened in October 1976 and we continue to provide the highest level of psychiatric care.

Cardinal Clinic gives one charity the opportunity to be the focus of fundraising for the year.

Currently our charity is Slough Homeless

SHOC (Slough Homeless Our Concern) is a day centre that exists to provide care for the homeless in Slough and those at risk of becoming so. It is the only centre within a 20-mile radius that offers the homeless both crisis care and long term transformational help towards independence.

Cardinal Clinic is proud to be supporting SloughHomeless.org in recognition of the work that they do in the local community.
