Cardinal Clinic are looking to recruit several enthusiastic, self-motivated Assistant Psychologists.

Cardinal Clinic is a leading mental health hospital and have been providing the highest level of care for over 40 years. The Clinic remains privately owned, allowing decisions to be made in the very best interest of our patients and staff.

The Clinic is set in beautiful grounds on the outskirts of Windsor, easily accessible from the M4 and Heathrow Airport. Some of the hospital is situated in an old building (parts of which date back to 1600’s).  Our patients love the quirky, historic style, we have in places.   The overwhelming sense of community and excellent clinical care all contribute to the outstanding feedback we receive from our patients.

About the job role and you:

Cardinal Clinic can provide you with a dynamic, people-centred environment, where you will be empowered to support patients with complex conditions, adopting a personalized approach to patient care that maximizes independence, choice and control, enabling people to reach and maintain their optimum level of health and wellbeing.

You will be an integral member of the MDT, providing patients in our in-patient hospital and day care service with bespoke individually formulated treatments. You will also be part of our group therapy team and facilitate psychoeducation groups for patients. You have the opportunity to develop you research skills by being part of the audit committee and carrying out regular monthly audits. You will be supported by having regular weekly supervision and we encouraged personal and professional development and training, enabling you to extend your skills and ensure that you excel.

Essential skills:

•       Membership entitlement from the British Psychological Society

•       an honour’s degree or higher in psychology preferably

•       experience of working with people with mental health problems

•       Knowledge of and experience of using cognitive behavioural approaches would also be advantageous as these posts involve delivering therapy under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.

•       Some experience in conducting clinical audit

The 3 “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:

1. You must be a psychology graduates with at least 2:1 degree in psychology by an accredited course and are eligible for graduate Basis for registration with the British Psychological Society

2. Experience of working with people with mental health problems and long-term physical health conditions.

3. Knowledge of and experience of using cognitive behavioural approaches would also be advantageous as these posts involve delivering therapy under the supervision of a qualified.
