Our Staff

We have experienced and highly trained staff across all departments. Many of our staff have worked at the Clinic for many years and provide a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Administration

The Administration team are responsible for the day-to-day running of the Clinic. They ensure appointments are booked and some provide secretarial support to our consultants and therapists.

Our team of receptionists are on hand to welcome you and make sure you are looked after, let the consultant/therapist know you have arrived, and also direct incoming calls to the relevant person.

Catering

We have a superb catering team who work hard to provide a varied and tasty menu every day. They provide a nutritionally balanced menu in consultation with our dietitian and there is always a selection to choose from.

If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let us know and our chefs will be happy to cater for your needs.

Finance

The Finance department look after all the financial arrangements for in- and day-patients. If you have private medical insurance or are self funding, the team will assist with all the financial aspects of your care.

Gardening & Facilities

Our beautiful grounds require a lot of maintenance to ensure they are looking their best all year round, our own team of gardeners are kept busy.

Due to our extensive facilities we have an on-site maintenance team. They make sure everything is kept in top condition and are able to attend very quickly to any problems that arise.

Nursing 

The nurses provide 24/7 care to our in-patients. The team is well qualified and skilled to work in all areas of mental health. They offer expertise in both group work and one to one counselling.

Housekeeping

The Housekeeping team are responsible for the cleanliness of the Clinic. This includes looking after our 23 en-suite in-patient rooms, consulting rooms and public areas, as well as our offices.

Housekeeping also looks after all the laundry at the Clinic. There is a separate in-patient laundry available for use.

Our Management Team

The day-to-day running of the clinic is managed by our managing director, medical director, our director of innovation and improvement and clinical director.  They bring together a wealth of experience and skills from clinical, managerial and nursing backgrounds to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.

Stuart Grimwood

Stuart Grimwood, Managing Director

Stuart Grimwood joined Cardinal Clinic in 2019 but had been providing consultancy services for a number of years prior to this.  Before joining the Clinic, he had held senior financial and IT roles in large facilities management companies before starting his own consultancy business.

Stuart holds overall responsibility for Cardinal Clinic.  His role is to ensure that the business continues to provide outstanding clinical care and is commercially successful.  He has a particular interest in how technology can make mental healthcare more accessible, more affordable and more effective.  Stuart has previously worked in commercial organisations outside the healthcare sector and brings experience of driving efficiency to Cardinal Clinic to ensure patients receive the best value care.

Dr Jane Perera

Dr Jane Perera, Medical Director

Jane completed her Basic and Higher Specialist training on the St Georges Medical School Training scheme and holds a Masters Degree in Addictions from the University of London.

Jane is currently the Medical Director and Responsible Officer for the Cardinal Clinic and is passionate about maintaining high standards, with motivated and up to date Consultants delivering excellent care to patients at the Clinic. She is proud to be leading the Team that got the Clinic rated as ‘Good’ across all domains in a recent CQC visit and ‘Outstanding’ for Caring.

Within the NHS, she is a Community Psychiatrist and has previously managed an In-patient and Home Treatment Service.

Jane has expertise in all areas of General Adult Psychiatry with special interest in Addictions, care of the Acutely Unwell Patient, Affective Disorders and Women’s Health. She is interested in the co-morbidity of Mental Illness and Substance Misuse and Complex Personality Disorders. She aims to get a good understanding of the patient and their circumstances, work collaboratively with the patient and family towards a meaningful recovery with the patient taking the lead and gaining control of their lives once more.

Dr Paul Wallang, Director of Innovation and Improvement

Dr Wallang completed his core training and higher specialist training in the London Deanery. Over the last decade he has worked in a range of organisations as a Consultant Psychiatrist, including the NHS, third sector (Charity) and private sector.

He has over a decade of experience in the assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental conditions (Autistic Spectrum Conditions and ADHD), complex trauma and common mental health conditions.

As well as being a consultant psychiatrist at Cardinal clinic, Paul is also a director of innovation and improvement. Paul works to understand new innovations in technology or medicine that may present opportunities for Cardinal clinic to improve the health care for our patients.

Sarah Kaiser

Sarah Kaiser, Clinical Director

Sarah trained as an RMN at BCUC Chalfont St. Giles and has worked at the Cardinal Clinic for several years in various departments. Alongside this she also worked part time in Pharmacy for 11 years and as a result has a prime interest in Medication Management.

Sarah has worked her way up through the organisation from nurse to matron before being promoted to clinical director in 2021. Despite holding a board level position, Sarah is still very hands-on with patient care.

It is Sarah’s responsibility to ensure that patients receive outstanding care and have a positive experience at Cardinal clinic.  She holds the position of Registered Manager meaning she has specific responsibilities for ensuring that the care we provide is consistent with regulations and best practice.  She also liaises with the Care Quality Commission on a regular basis to ensure we are transparent in the quality of care we provide.
