Dr Sohan Derasari
General Adult psychiatry
Dr Sohan Derasari holds a consultant psychiatrist’s post at the Berkshire Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. He gained his primary qualifications in 1982 and after training in psychiatry started his career as a lecturer in 1989. Over the years, he has developed services for obsessive compulsive disorder, early psychosis and bipolar disorder. He continues to remain involved with research and brings current research developments to clinical practice.
He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is an examiner for the Membership examination of Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Dr Derasari has over 20 years experience in the treatment of a range of general psychiatric disorders. He helps individuals to understand their illness and supports them to recover and achieve their potential. He prefers to use medication judiciously and in a manner that prevents both short term and long term side effects.
