Special clinical interests: Anxiety disorders inc. phobias, panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), self esteem. Trichotillomania and other impulse control disorders
After initially gaining a masters degree in psychology at Cambridge University, Louise worked for a number of years as strategic change consultant for a major City institution. She then returned to psychology and gained Chartered Counselling Psychologist status at Roehampton University. She has training and experience in cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic and systemic approaches and is trained (stage 1) in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). She undertakes both short-term and long-term work with patients. Although not currently working in the NHS, Louise has several years of experience working in GP practices, and currently has a private practice in Wokingham. She has special interests in anxiety and impulse control disorders, trauma, impact of road traffic accidents (RTAs) and low self esteem. She also runs psycho-educational groups on self esteem, anxiety management and depression at the Clinic.
