MBBS; MD (Psychiatry); MRCPsych; FRCPsych; CCT (Psychiatry, UK) Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Simmi Sachdeva-Mohan is a Consultant Psychiatrist with more than two decades of experience working across the NHS and independent mental health services in the UK. She specialises in general adult psychiatry and has particular expertise in complex mental health presentations, including personality disorders, trauma-related conditions, adult ADHD, and perinatal mental health. Dr Sachdeva-Mohan is known for providing holistic, patient-centred care and has worked extensively with individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties, including those in secure and rehabilitation settings. Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) Dr Sachdeva-Mohan trained in medicine before specialising in psychiatry, completing an MD in Psychiatry at the University of Mumbai, where she graduated with a Gold Medal. After moving to the UK, she undertook further postgraduate psychiatric training and achieved Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, later becoming a Fellow of the College. She also holds a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in psychiatry in the UK. Over the course of her career, she has gained extensive experience in a range of psychiatric settings, including general adult psychiatry, forensic and secure services, women’s mental health services, and rehabilitation environments. Her clinical work includes assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions, and she has undertaken additional training in areas such as adult ADHD assessment, dual diagnosis, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for personality disorders. Dr Sachdeva-Mohan has an interest in advancing understanding and treatment of complex mental health conditions. Her professional interests include personality disorders, trauma-related disorders, adult ADHD, and the relationship between mental illness and substance misuse. She has contributed to professional discussions and academic activities within psychiatry, including conference presentations and publications that support improvements in psychiatric practice and patient outcomes. Throughout her career, Dr Sachdeva-Mohan has held consultant roles within NHS mental health services, working in both community and inpatient multidisciplinary teams. Her work has included specialist roles in services supporting individuals with complex and severe mental health needs, including women’s secure and rehabilitation services. Alongside her clinical responsibilities, she has been involved in medical education and supervision, supporting the training of junior doctors and medical students. She has also contributed to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the NHS.
