Dr Sessa will also consider the role of psychedelics in supporting neuroplasticity and psychotherapy, alongside the latest developments and changing legal landscape within this field.

An Introduction to Psychedelic Therapies

Join Dr Ben Sessa for an introduction to the fascinating and rapidly emerging field of psychedelic-assisted therapy. The session will explore MDMA, ketamine and psilocybin-assisted therapies, including their pharmacology, mechanisms of action, clinical applications, safety and emerging evidence of efficacy.

Dr Sessa will also explore how trauma can contribute to psychological rigidity, and how psychedelics may increase neuronal flexibility and plasticity to support and enhance psychotherapy. The session will consider the latest developments in psychedelic research and practice, as well as the current legal and regulatory landscape surrounding these therapies.
