Your Rights
Confidentiality
Your treatment and all information you share with us is strictly confidential. We will not share information with anyone — including family members, employers, or your GP — without your explicit consent, except in the rare circumstances where we are required to do so by law (for example, if there is a serious risk of harm).
Consent
You have the right to make informed decisions about your care. Before any treatment begins, your clinician will explain what is proposed, why, the potential benefits and risks, and any alternatives. You are free to ask questions, take time to decide, and to withdraw your consent at any time.
Access to Your Records
Under the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR, you have the right to access your medical records. To request access, please contact the Hospital Director in writing. We will respond within 30 days.
Data Protection
Cardinal Clinic is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and complies with all data protection legislation. Your personal and clinical data is stored securely and processed only for the purposes of your care, unless you consent to other uses.
Advocacy
You have the right to an independent advocate to help you understand and exercise your rights. The nursing team can help you access advocacy services if you wish.
