What to Expect

A step-by-step guide to your journey at Cardinal Clinic — from first contact through assessment, treatment, and aftercare.

Your First Contact

When you first contact Cardinal Clinic, our admissions team will take the time to understand your situation and answer any questions you may have. Every conversation is completely confidential.

Assessment

Your journey begins with a comprehensive psychiatric assessment with one of our consultant psychiatrists. This typically lasts 60–90 minutes and covers your current symptoms, medical history, and personal circumstances.

Treatment Planning

Following your assessment, your consultant will develop a personalised treatment plan in collaboration with you. This plan will outline the recommended level of care, therapeutic approaches, and expected duration of treatment.

During Treatment

Throughout your time at Cardinal Clinic, you will receive regular reviews with your consultant psychiatrist and ongoing therapy sessions. We encourage open communication and will adjust your care plan as needed.

Discharge & Aftercare

As you approach the end of your treatment programme, your clinical team will work with you to develop a comprehensive discharge plan. This may include follow-up appointments, referral to our Compass Programme, or recommendations for ongoing community support.
