Overview
Clare has twenty years of experience as a counselling psychologist working with children and adolescents and families in different settings. Clare provides therapy on a short and long term basis and works with a wide range of issues and difficulties. Depending on the presentation and age of the young person Clare works on an individual basis or together with the family.
Clare provides therapy for children and young people, family therapeutic approaches, CBT, EMDR, DBT skills, psychodynamic therapy, humanistic therapy, person centred therapy, group therapy, SFBT, art therapeutic approaches, and integrative therapy.

Specialisms
Training & Experience
Clare specialises in CAMHS and has worked in the NHS and independent and charity sectors, in outpatient and inpatient CAMHS, family safeguarding, fostering and adoption, family therapy and mediation, and with adults and couples and groups. She has led four services (inpatient and community) including a shared hospital lead role and has set up and provided clinical leadership and supervision for school based therapy projects and charities.
Clare is an associate fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS), A registered practitioner psychologist (HCPC), a chartered counselling psychologist (BPS), a clinical supervisor (BPS RAPPS approved) and a chartered scientist (BPS). She has completed EMDR training parts 1,2, and 3, and child training part 1.
Clare has an MSc in research methods and advanced psychometrics and is trained and experienced as an expert witness for the courts and in providing comprehensive psychological assessments and reports of children and families involved in court proceedings. Clare trained as a family mediator and is a Resolution approved family consultant (collaborative law).
Clare is an author with professional publications. She lectured, authored and co-authored psychology university courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level for many years at three universities.
Research Interests
EMDR, Trauma, psychometrics, child psychotherapeutic approaches, transpersonal psychology, and animal and equine assisted therapies.
