Overview
Dr Pankhurst is a General Adult Psychiatrist, a medically qualified doctor that specialises in the assessment and treatment of conditions that influence mental health.
He practises in Berkshire and Surrey and has extensive experience in providing assessments and treatment for a broad range of mental health conditions, particularly stress-related disorders, depression and bipolar affective disorder, alcohol and substance abuse and self-harm.

Training & Experience
Dr Pankhurst has been a Consultant Psychiatrist since 2008. Qualifications include Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (1995); Masters of Medicine (Psychiatry) (2005).
He has worked in his role as Consultant Psychiatrist in a variety of services including, Inpatient Care, Home Treatment teams, Liaison Psychiatry teams in General Hospital, Rehabilitation teams and Community based teams.
Dr Pankhurst believes strongly in the holistic care of his patients and adopts a combination of psychological, biological and social approaches to his practice. His main focus is establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with his patients and taking an active participation in their treatment plans.
He provides supportive therapy in managing personal circumstances and building self-resilience, which are an integral part of the healing and recovery process. Where necessary, he prescribes medication in accordance with evidenced based treatments, increasing effective outcomes.
He currently works in the NHS as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Surrey Heath Community Mental Heath Recovery Team.
Dr Pankhurst provides private psychiatric services at the Cardinal Clinic in Windsor and Esher Groves in Esher.
Research Interests
Dr Pankhurst’s interests are in managing difficult to treat depression and anxiety.
