Overview
Dr Mirza has a rich and varied experience in the field of psychiatry. He has worked in more than one country and has multiple post graduate qualifications in his field.
He has a considerable experience of general adult acute psychiatry working in inpatients and Home Treatment Team.
While working in NHS he has been awarded Clinical Excellence award four times. He has remained Chairman of Medical Advisory Committee for four years and he received Psychiatry Trainer of the Year Award from Health Education England in 2001.

Training & Experience
Dr Mirza graduated from Liaquat Medical College, Jamshoro, Pakistan (Now Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences) in 1985. He started his career working in Sir Cowasjee Jehangir Institute of Psychiatry, Hyderabad. He later joined Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Lahore and received Diploma in Psychological Medicine (DPM) in 1995.
He joined Dr Ziauddin Medical University Hospital as a consultant psychiatrist in 1997.
He at the same time joined Dow Medical College / Civil Hospital Karachi and joined a four-year Fellowship in psychiatry programme. He went for further training to PNS Shifa Hospital, Karachi on deputation. He passed the Membership (Psychiatry) exam of the College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1999. He passed his Fellowship exam in psychiatry in 2001 and received his membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2004.
He worked as a consultant psychiatrist in Surrey And Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust from 2003 to 2022. In 2007, Dr Mirza started a new Acute Care Service along with a fellow consultant in his locality, which comprised of inpatients and Home Treatment Team and continued working in this position till 2022.
