Dr Martin Carroll

Training & Experience

Year of first qualification: 1999

He received his PhD in clinical Psychology from the University of British Columbia in Canada and has worked as a clinical psychologist in the NHS since 2000.

Martin gained his PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2000. He has worked in the both the NHS and Private practice. Martin is passionate about evidence based psychological therapies and life-long training and supervision as a therapist. He has gained further qualifications as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and EMDR Therapist. He is also interested in compassion focused therapy and mindfulness-based practices. He has taught on the doctoral training course at the University of Surrey and was Course Director for the High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Training Programme at the University of Reading.

Martin was the Director of Psychological Therapies at the Cardinal Clinic for over 10 years before stepping down in 2021 to focus more on his special interest in Trauma.
