Overview
Dr Winchurst is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience. She works with adults who are experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, adjustment to significant life changes and experience of abuse.
Dr Winchurst also has expertise in working with people with physical health conditions and medically unexplained physical symptoms, helping them to manage their conditions and continue to lead fulfilling lives.

Claire gained her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of London and her Doctoral degree from Canterbury Christ Church University College.
She works within the private sector and the NHS and is a visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Training Programme.
She has extensive experience of treating people through a number of different psychological approaches. These include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and short and long-term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. This allows her to adapt her treatment to the needs and preferences of each individual.
Claire understands the importance of providing a compassionate, confidential and relaxed environment in which people can safely explore their difficulties, gain greater understanding of their problems and develop new ways of coping and moving forward with their lives. She works with individuals, couples and groups.
She is also registered with the major healthcare insurance providers.
