Training & Experience
Dr Wallang is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Director of Innovation and Improvement at the Cardinal Clinic in Oakley Green, Windsor. He has over a decade of experience in the assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental conditions (Autistic Spectrum Conditions and ADHD), complex trauma and common mental health conditions.
He holds a B.Sc. in Medical Science from the University of St Andrews (2000), MBChB from the University of Manchester (2003), MRCPsych from the Royal College of Psychiatrists (2007), MBA (with distinction) from Henley Business School (2021) and CMgr FCMI (with distinction) from the Chartered Institute of Management (2021). He is registered with the GMC: 6078568.
Dr Wallang completed his core training and higher specialist training in the London Deanery. Over the last decade he has worked in a range of organisations as a Consultant Psychiatrist, including the NHS, third sector (Charity) and private sector. Dr Wallang has worked with both children and adults in community-based teams, open wards, locked, and secure services.
He has been actively involved in teaching medical students at the University of Southampton, University College London, University of Buckingham and Cambridge University. Dr Wallang is heavily involved in research with several institutions and holds an Honorary Senior Research Associate position at University College London. His current research interests include, value-based healthcare, outcomes research and innovations in digital mental health including the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence to care processes. He has authored/co-authored multiple peer reviewed publications.
Dr Wallang also provides medico-legal assessments and has produced over 400 reports over the last decade including both criminal and civil cases. He has completed the Bond Solon expert training and given evidence at the Old Bailey and other public inquiries. Over the last two years he has been involved in the assessment of complex trauma in the survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire. He has held a series of senior management roles including, Lead Psychiatrist, Clinical Director, Associate Medical Director and is currently Director of Innovation and Improvement (Member of the Board).
Research Interests
Dr Wallang is actively involved in research with several institutions and holds an Honorary Senior Research Associate position at University College London. His current research interests include, value-based healthcare, outcomes research and innovations in digital mental health including the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence to care processes.
