Covid 19

Cardinal Clinic continues to monitor the Covid pandemic situation closely and manage the amount of face-to-face contact our staff have with patients.  Where there is clinical justification, consultations will be held face-to-face.  In other situations, clinicians will agree with patients the most appropriate format, giving consideration to patient safety and clinical effectiveness.

In-patients will be expected to be tested for Covid prior to admission and during their stay with us.  At times of high local Covid infection rates, we may have to limit in-patient’s visitors if we believe this is in the best interests of protecting our patients and staff.

If you have a face-to-face appointment, please read our briefing document so that you understand the steps that we are taking to ensure your safety and what you can do to protect ours.

Cardinal Clinic has superb facilities which include comfortable consulting rooms, indoor heated swimming pool, extensive well maintained grounds and patient lounges for our in-patients.

About Cardinal Clinic

The Main House, known as Bishops Lodge, has evolved over many years and dates back to as early as the 1600s.  Since 1976 it has been the home of Cardinal Clinic and over the past 40 years has been extensively renovated, extended and improved.  Additional buildings have been constructed to meet growing demand and the 10 acre estate has been beautifully landscaped to provide the sort of environment which support recovery.

All our buildings have a wealth of character whether it’s the ancient timbers of Bishops Hall or the quirky design of The Octagon.

Our Grounds

The ten acre estate has beautifully manicured flower beds, vegetable patches, lawn areas for relaxing or exercising and footpaths to explore.   We encourage our patients to enjoy the grounds and believe it makes a contribution to their recovery.

Our gardening team encourages patients to get involved in the maintenance of the estate and provides classes for in-patients who wish to get a little ‘green fingered’.
